How AMR started
A family business
that outgrew its yard.
The Miller family has spent three generations in the metal trade — buying, processing, and recycling metal and vehicles across northwest New Jersey through George's Salvage Co. in Newton.
The auto side of that business kept growing until it needed a yard of its own. In 2022 the family purchased Beemerville Auto Wrecking in Wantage, NJ — a 50-year operation in its own right — and rebuilt it into a dedicated auto recycling facility. That yard is Auto Metal Recycling.
Today AMR runs as a full-scale operation: buying cars, trucks, and trailers, processing them properly, and setting aside cores for the shops that rebuild them. Same family, same standards, more room to work.

Straight prices
Your number comes from weight, parts, and the metal market — not from what we think you'll settle for. Ask us how we got there and we'll tell you.
A real yard, real equipment
Material handlers, loaders, and the room to work — anything from a sedan to a semi tractor. If it's metal on wheels, we've got the machine for it.
Recycled the right way
Every vehicle is drained and stripped before it's processed. Fluids, batteries, converters, tires — all handled properly, not dumped.

A junk car isn't garbage — it's a few thousand pounds of steel and a stack of parts that still have work left in them. Here's what happens after it reaches the yard.
It comes in
Driven in, towed in, or picked up from wherever it's been sitting — behind the garage, out in the field, or in the driveway.
Fluids come out
Oils, gas, and coolant are drained before anything else happens. This is the step that separates a recycler from a dumping ground.
Parts come off
Battery, alternator, starter, catalytic converter, motor, transmission, tires and rims — anything with a second life gets pulled and set aside.
The steel moves on
What's left gets processed and sent to be melted down and made into something new. Nothing ends up in the ground.
