Does my vehicle have to run?
No. Running, dead, wrecked, flooded, or already stripped — we buy it either way. A vehicle that hasn't started in years is still worth money.
What decides the price?
Three things: the weight of the vehicle, the parts it still carries, and where the metal market sits that week. Ask us how we got to your number and we'll walk you through it.
Do I need the title?
Bring it if you have it — it's the cleanest way to do the deal. If the title is missing, lost, or in someone else's name, call and ask. We deal with paperwork questions every day and we'll tell you straight whether we can work with what you've got.
What should I do before it goes?
Take the plates off, clear out anything personal, and check the trunk and glovebox twice. Keys are helpful but not required.
Can you come get it?
Yes — that's a big part of what we do. If you can't get the vehicle to us, we'll come to it, whether it's in a driveway, a garage, or a field it hasn't left in a decade.
What areas do you cover?
Sussex, Warren, Morris, and Passaic Counties in New Jersey, plus Pike County, PA and Orange County, NY. Outside that? Call and ask — we'll tell you if we can make it work.
How soon can you be there?
Usually within days. Tell us where the vehicle sits when you call and we'll give you a real timeline, not a runaround.
What kinds of vehicles do you buy?
Cars, SUVs, pickups, box trucks, service bodies, dumps, semi tractors, and trailers of every kind — farm, utility, and semi. If it's metal on wheels, start with a phone call.
Do you take tires?
Yes. Tires come off every vehicle we process, and we'll take yours off your hands too. Give us a call before you load up so we can tell you what to expect.
Do you buy loose scrap metal?
Not at this time. AMR is an auto recycler — our yard is set up for vehicles, tires, and cores rather than loose ferrous and non-ferrous metal.
Do you sell parts or cores?
We sell cores — engines, transmissions, alternators, starters and more, pulled from vehicles that came through the yard and set aside for rebuilders. Call and we'll check what's on the ground.
What actually happens to my vehicle?
Fluids come out first — oils, gas, coolant. Then the parts with a second life get pulled: battery, alternator, starter, catalytic converter, motor, transmission, tires and rims. What's left is processed and sent on to be melted down and made into something new.
Where are you and when are you open?
We're at 268B County Rd. 519, Sussex, NJ 07461. Open Mon–Fri 8:00am – 4:30pm, and saturday by appointment only.
Am I calling a call center?
No. You're calling the yard, and the family that owns it. The person who answers is the person who prices your vehicle and buys it.
